More Luang Prabang

We came down the Mekong River to get to Luang Prabang but the town also has the Nam Khan river on the other side of it (we will be going up this river in a few days).  This picture is overlooking the crook that goes through the city.

Typical transport for many people in Lao is the motorbike.  You often see an entire family riding on one bike (5 people) with the smallest child gripping the side mirrors or holding an umbrella to thwart the sun.  Sometimes you will see kids on the back asleep…


Here is someone making my $1.50 Baguette chicken with cheese sandwich.  No Eurest here!  My food is subsidized by the gool ol Lao PDR.
