Adventures in Asia

Travel Status

We are leaving Luang Prabang tomorrow morning on the way to Muang Ngoi Neua which is only accessible by boat (North East up the Nam Ou river).  No cars or motorized vehicles in the town–we will see if there is electricity (it will probably be a few days before you see another post–so enjoy the tiger below)!  After Muang Ngoi Neua we will shoot down to the Lao capital Vientiane before moving down to some exciting places in the south.

In other news:  It rained today.  This is only the 2nd day it has rained in the 75 or so days we have been here.  It reminded me of Seattle.

  1. hey greg!
i love your blog. i’ll have to spend more time reading it soon because it is so interesting and of course i’m incredibly envious that you are there adn i am here, and even worse, than i barely get out of the house because i have a baby to care for 24/7 and i’ve turned from a women’s studies professor into a 1950s housewife. having a baby ain’t easy, but she sure is cute to make up for the whole thing. So guess what! Eric and I are moving out West to Olympia! Eric got a job at Evergreen State College and I’ll be teaching there too as a Visiting Prof. Yahoo! We’ll be seeing you in Seattle, presuming, that is, that you are coming back.
