Adventures in Asia

by Greg & Francie

What will I be eating for dinner tonight?

One of the things I love about travelling in foreign countries that don’t use the same writing system is the experience of eating out when there is no English menu available. Each dish you get is an exciting surprise! Last week Greg & I unknowingly ordered this:

P1050676

(btw, it tasted as awesome as it looks)

  1. It was like the equivalent of an Awesome Blossum (sp?) but using a fish instead of an onion. Oh yeah, then you dump sweet and sour sauce all over it.

  2. Aaaaaaaaah T.T

Just curious, how much does food cost there? I’ve been to SE Asia but it was 17 years ago 🙂

  3. That’s what Libby and I thought immediately — an awesome blossom — that is, until Libby threw up in her mouth. 😦

  4. To answer your question Keywon, food is pretty cheap overall. I think our fancy fish dish above cost about US$3.50. The market and street food is even cheaper.
