Adventures in Asia

by Greg & Francie

Where to next?

You have got to be asking where we can go next to top that little experience with the Pandas in Wolong? Well we are asking ourselves that right now as we have a little R&R in the very interesting Chengdu. Oh wait, this whole trip is R&R!

Well, on Tuesday we are taking another bus ride to the north of the Sichuan province to head to Songpan which is by all definitions a horse town. Francie is just dying to play with the horsies so we will take a multiple day journey through pretty amazing scenery.

After that we will attempt to obtain another Visa Extension from the Chinese government and then proceed north to the Jiuzhaigou National Park and Nature Reserve. I swear that if one more person tells me that it is ‘the most beautiful place on earth’ I will make them eat bamboo worms. It is true that for the last 3 months people have been yaking away at us that we should go there so we had better head up there and see what all the fuss is about.

After that we head back to Chengdu to prepare for our final stop in China (completing about four months of traveling) we will head up to Tibet to see the ‘rooftop of the world’.

After that we will fly back down to good ol Bangkok for some Pad Thai and planning for the final stages of the trip!

  1. Are there worms in Bamboo?? My teacher never told me that HAHA XD

Anyway,JiuZhaigou should really be an amazing place,(One of the English tour guides showed me some pictures, they were amazing!).
But you must be aware of the large amount of visitors there, I was told that it can get very crowded sometimes!
