Odd Consequences of One Child Law

Francie saw this news story on CCTV (China sponsored tv) that reported that the boarding school market is booming in China.

At first thought this seems rather strange, right? China has had the one child law in effect for 25 years–limiting most families to only one child (this was done to prevent population growth). So, this means that 25 years ago a couple had one child who grew up and married, and now has one child who is 5-7 years old. This of course leaves two sets of grandparents with only one grandchild.

Apparently, everyone dotes on the grandchild/child and they feel very special, begin to go wild, and consequently find themselves in boarding school. Here is a related antidote

In a word taken out of Borat’s book-“Nice”.
